I have been involved with the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador Program since 2019 when I began in seventh grade. Over six years, I have grown from Ambassador to my current role as Co-President.
When I was selected as a Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador (HLFYA) I was honored as only about 15
kids are selected each year.
During my inaugural year, I completed an independent service project (ISP) where I designed, marketed, fundraised, and
executed a goalie save-a-thon. Over 10 weeks I raised $10,197 for NY Presbyterian
Children’s Hospital. This was the most money raised to date from a single young ambassador event.
Over 60 people supported my campaign by donating per save. I made 696 saves and raised an average of $15 per save. I kept donors engaged by sending out weekly update emails with pictures and videos from the games played
and a graphic I created to visually show how much I'd raised to date.
In addition to my ISP, I also did an additional 14 hours of volunteer time, participated in four HLFYA service events, made presentations to my community and got to
make a final presentation to Henrik and Therese Lundqvist.
I also raised an additional $1,200 organizing a virtual Kan Jam event with HLFYA during
quarantine.
I continued to be an alumni ambassador and in 2024 was selected to be Co-President. In this role, I support the director with programming and mentor engagement which includes following up with the current young ambassadors and checking in on their progress. I worked to develop the first Alumni Reunion service learning event. I am also working with our director to launch the HLFYA Tik-Tok account.
About HLFYA
The Young Ambassadors program was developed because the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation believes in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world and they want to give kids a platform to do just that!
