Community Service

I am fortunate to be healthy and have the opportunity to receive a good education, play sports and grow my passions. I want to always be thinking about how to give back to my community.

Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador

2024-2025 - Co-President
2020-2024 - Alumni Ambassador
2019-2020 - Ambassador

I have been involved with the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador Program since 2019 when I began in seventh grade.  Over six years, I have grown from Ambassador to my current role as Co-President.

When I was selected as a Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador (HLFYA) I was honored as only about 15 kids are selected each year.

During my inaugural year, I completed an independent service project (ISP) where I designed, marketed, fundraised, and executed a goalie save-a-thon. Over 10 weeks I raised $10,197 for NY Presbyterian Children’s Hospital. This was the most money raised to date from a single young ambassador event.

Over 60 people supported my campaign by donating per save.  I made 696 saves and raised an average of $15 per save. I kept donors engaged by sending out weekly update emails with pictures and videos from the games played and a graphic I created to visually show how much I'd raised to date.

In addition to my ISP, I also did an additional 14 hours of volunteer time, participated in four HLFYA service events, made presentations to my community and got to make a final presentation to Henrik and Therese Lundqvist.

I also raised an additional $1,200 organizing a virtual Kan Jam event with HLFYA during quarantine.

I continued to be an alumni ambassador and in 2024 was selected to be Co-President.  In this role,  I support the director with programming and mentor engagement which includes following up with the current young ambassadors and checking in on their progress. I worked to develop the first Alumni Reunion service learning event.  I am also working with our director to launch the HLFYA Tik-Tok account.

About HLFYA
The Young Ambassadors program was developed because the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation believes in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world and they want to give kids a platform to do just that!

Kent School Community Involvement

My three years at boarding school taught me to be an engaged community member.

As a Varsity Ice Hockey goalie, I learned to lead, collaborate, overcome adversity, and advocate for myself.

As a Kent student tour guide, I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm about the school with prospective families. I feel pride reading the thank you emails I receive, knowing I’m contributing to maintaining our vibrant community.

As a Senior, I was selected as a Kent Peer Orientation Program (KPOP) leader. I guide and support new students as they join our community through summer outreach and organizing and leading orientation activities and events throughout the year. When I was a new student, I remember feeling grateful to the upperclassmen who helped me get acclimated and I was eager to give back my own time.

This year I am also organizing a teachers vs. students volleyball game. This event isn’t just about competition; it creates a space for students and teachers to connect as friends and build trust and camaraderie.

HLFYA Kan Jam Event 2020

In July and August 2020, HLF Young Ambassadors and Alumni gathered on Zoom to participate in the 2nd Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassadors "KidsJam" Kan Jam event.  I organized the teams, set up the rules, planned how the event would run that day and led the fundraising efforts for all teams playing.  We had a lot of fun that day, but more importantly raised $1,275 for HLF.  All the teams combined raised over $15,000 for HLF programs supporting children’s health and education.

The first KidsJam event was in person  in 2019 in New York City.  That year I not only formed a team and fundraised, but also helped the HLF leadership with the set up on the day of the event.

We are hoping to have a third KidsJam Kan Jam event in 2022.

Swim Across America

In 2019 my mom and I swam one mile in the Atlantic Ocean while visiting Nantucket, MA.  We raised over $1,000 toward helping cancer patients and their families.  We swam specifically in memory of my mom's brother, Enzo, whom I never got to meet.  We are fundraising again for this coming spring.

During the spring I volunteer to help out on the ice working with young goalies.
